We’re now what seems like centuries into Big Brother 10, and as usual it’s been one long volley of people fluttering their eyelids at each other in hope of securing a comforting canoodle.

Cupid has already been spraying his arrows carelessly around the house as the rules of attraction kick in. It didn’t take long for mop-top Kris to hook up with Sophie aka Dogface before the voting public tore them apart by kicking Kris into the bins, while Noirin has been nothing but a constant magnet of male attention.

Sree staggered Noirin by telling her: “Nobody comes into my dreams but you… your inner beauty is platinum. I’m in love with you.” His affections were resolutely unrequited, however, and he was also tossed into the trash, giving Marcus room to make his move. How such a meathead like Marcus could think he’d stand a chance with Noirin (he’d have had more chance with Sree) left the nation gasping, and since then all he’s done is constantly pester her for spurious  hugs. And now the mighty Tom has walked into the house with his Men’s Health cover model physique, and the chips have been tossed into the wind once again.

But has the course of love ever run smooth in the BB house? We'd decided to have a look at some of the other romances by travelling back through the ages and picking out some choice moments where love sprang eternal (at least for a bit).
